About Us

We’ve been a software and research consulting company right from the beginning. Trailmark and all our service offerings grew out of our founders’ work with Indigenous communities across Canada, where we saw the need for better software tools to properly support Indigenous monitoring, mapping, research, and sovereignty.

Trailmark officially formed in 2014, with headquarters in the homelands of the lək̓ʷəŋiʔnəŋ and SENĆOŦEN speaking people in and around Victoria, BC. Today, our dispersed team of anthropologists, geographers, historians, facilitators, and software engineers works closely and collaboratively from bases across the country.

At Trailmark, she helps inform the development of tools and methodologies that connect Indigenous Knowledge with science-based and rights-based resource management processes. Her work focuses on making complex cultural, historical, and environmental knowledge easier to gather, protect, interpret, and use — while respecting Indigenous data sovereignty, community protocols, and the relationships that give knowledge meaning.
