Land Acknowledgement

Trailmark Systems operates across Canada, and we are grateful to do this work on the lands of many First Peoples. We offer this acknowledgement with humility and with recognition that words alone are not enough — we strive to reflect our commitment to Indigenous data sovereignty, land stewardship, and self-determination in our work and relationships, not only in what we say.

Our home office sits on the traditional territories of the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples and the Lək̓ʷəŋən speaking (Songhees and Xʷsepsəm/Esquimalt) peoples, who are signatories of the Douglas Treaties of 1850 and 1852, respectively.

In Toronto, our staff work on land that has been home to many Nations for thousands of years, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. This territory is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit and the Williams Treaties.

In Temagami, our staff work within N'Daki Menan — the homeland of the Teme Augama Anishinabek.

In Saskatchewan, our staff work on Treaty territory — lands encompassing the Cree, Dakota, Nakota, Lakota and Saulteaux peoples, along with the homeland of the Métis Nation.

In the Annapolis Valley, our staff work in Mi'kma'ki — the ancestral territory of the Mi'kmaq People, covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship. In the Comox Valley, our staff work on the traditional territory of the K'ómoks First Nation, who are working toward a historic treaty ratification.
